Distinguished Fellows Program (DFP)

Distinguished Fellows Program (DFP) is a sub component of IMPACT (Improving Public Health Management for Action).Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) with technical assistance from CDC (Atlanta) is implementing this program which aims to provide management and leadership training for mid to senior level health managers in Bangladesh.

So why IMPACT and DFP?
Until recent years public health advanced quite a lot; with the development of improved vaccines, drugs, techniques, communications, protocols and technologies. However, only through skilled management can these advancements, be translated into successful public health action. With this in mind, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Atlanta, USA is partnering with low to middle income countries to strengthen global public health management capacity. The IMPACT program was launched in 2016 in Bangladesh and Kenya. Further expansion is underway to new countries in Asia and Africa. IMPACT is a competency-based management training program which builds skills through applied learning. IMPACT trainees are current employees at MOHFW, Bangladesh. To graduate, trainees must master management competencies through classroom and field-based training.
